What is Laser Therapy?

Laser therapy is the use of specific wavelengths of light to create therapeutic effects. These effects include faster wound healing, pain relief, improved blood circulation and reduced swelling. In Kiropraktik i Centrum we have the powerful K-Laser as an effective supplement to the chiropractic treatment.

What happens during a Laser Therapy?

Laser treatment is painless. The released energy increases blood circulation, drawing fluid, oxygen and nutrients to the damaged area. This creates an optimal healing environment that reduces inflammation, swelling, muscle spasms, stiffness and pain. The damaged area returns to its normal state, restoring function in the treated area and reducing pain.

How often should it be treated?

Acute conditions can be treated daily, especially if they are accompanied by significant pain. More chronic problems respond better when treatment is given two to three times a week, decreasing to once every week or every two weeks depending on the effect achieved.

How many treatments are needed?

It depends on the condition being treated. For some acute conditions, one to six treatments will be sufficient. Cases of a more chronic nature may require 10-15 treatments.

Does it hurt? How does a treatment feel?

The treatment is not unpleasant. Often you feel nothing. Occasionally feels mild, soothing heat or tingling. Areas with pain or inflammation may be more sensitive for a short time after a treatment, before pain reduction occurs. Laser therapy can help e.g. by:
